About Cheng Gu Fortune
Cheng Gu (称骨) was created by the Tang dynasty master Yuan Tiangang. It weighs the four pillars of your birth — year, month, day and hour — each with a weight in liang and qian. The total weight corresponds to a poem that has guided fortunes for over a thousand years.
A Blessing for You
平安喜乐 · 顺遂无忧
May peace and joy walk with you, and every path lie smooth before you.
Cheng Gu (称骨) is a classical Chinese fortune method created by the Tang-dynasty master Yuan Tiangang. It 'weighs' the four pillars of your birth — lunar year, month, day and hour — each carrying a weight in liang and qian, then matches your total to a fortune poem that has guided lives for over a thousand years.
How is my bone weight calculated?
Each of the four parts of your birth is assigned a weight: the lunar year, the lunar month, the lunar day and the two-hour period (时辰) you were born. These four weights are added together to give your total bone weight — a number of liang and qian, such as '5 liang 2 qian'.
What do I need to calculate mine?
Just your birth date, birth time and the timezone of your birthplace. The tool converts your Western date into the Chinese lunar calendar automatically — no lunar date needed from you.
Why do I need my birth hour?
In the Cheng Gu method the birth hour (one of 12 shichen, two-hour periods) is one of the four weighed parts. It changes your total weight and therefore your fortune poem, so it matters for an accurate reading.
Is a low bone weight a bad sign?
No. In Chinese tradition a higher weight speaks of a fortunate life, while a lighter weight calls for diligence, kindness and patience — and both paths lead to a full life when walked with virtue. The reading explains how to make the most of yours.
What does my bone weight tell me?
Your result includes a classical oracle poem plus interpretation across life themes: character, career and wealth, love, health, yearly fortune and advice — and the full report adds a detailed reading with a PDF you can keep.
Is this a real Chinese tradition?
Yes. Bone-weight fortune (称骨算命) has been practised in China for over a thousand years, and its attributed origin — the Tang dynasty master Yuan Tiangang — is part of Chinese fortune-telling history.
What do I get in the full report?
The full report unlocks a deep interpretation of your weight: the oracle poem in full, life-area readings, yearly fortune notes and a beautifully formatted PDF report you can download and share.
